Tideland Signal has recently introduced a range of fog detectors that can be used independently to monitor fog or used to control the Tideland range of fog signals. Bothe run conveniently from a solar power system (12V or 24V DC) with options of mains power for the general marine use (GMU) version.
Both detectors measure atmospheric visibility (meteorological optical range) by determining the amount of light scattered by particles (smoke, dust, haze, fog, rain, & snow) in the air that passes through the sample volume.
