Bridge Lights

Tideland light assemblies using ML-155 MaxLumina signal lanterns are popular worldwide for marking bridges and other structures over navigable waters. The number, position, and character of these lights depend primarily on the bridge type and fender locations and are usually specified by Government regulations.

Bridge lights are also available with standard pedestals for upright installation on bridge piers and abutments as well as on deck ends. In North America, bridge lights mostly show a 180-degree red light, a 360-degree green light, or alternate red and green sectors, elsewhere it is normal practice to mark safe passage under bridges with a White flashing character, in the centre, and Red and Green flashing, lateral markers, on the flanks, as required by the IALA Maritime Buoyage System.
